Rena Isbin
Rena Isbin has spent many years embracing the varied musical activities the freelance world has offered. After graduating conservatory having studied violin with Erick Friedman and Albert Markov, as well as chamber music with Lillian Fuchs, she performed in a wide range of classical, popular, and commercial venues. She served as Concertmaster of the New York City Opera Touring Company and subbed regularly for many years at The New York City Opera. She’s played for Frank Sinatra, Frank Sinatra Jr., Harry Connick, Bobby Vinton, Neil Sedaka, Shirley Bassey, Johnny Mathis, Tito Puente, Paquito D’Riveira, Brian Wilson, The Moody Blues, Bjork, Keith Urban, Andrea Bocelli, Placido Domingo, and Lucianno Pavorati, to name a few. She’s also performed in many orchestral concerts, recordings, and 17 Broadway shows. Having taught at the Fleming School and St. Hilda’s and St. Hugh’s in New York City, she currently teaches privately and enjoys playing chamber music. In addition to musical endeavors she is also passionate about yoga, meditation, The Alexander Technique, and is a certified Reiki 2 practitioner in the Usui System of Natural Healing.
