Founding OME Member Beryl Diamond Chacon is a concert violinist and a
graduate of The Juilliard School. Beryl studied Chamber Music with Earl
Carlyss of The Juilliard Quartet, Josef Gingold, and Eugene Phillips. She
has played under the baton of Zubin Mehta and Bernard Haitink. She performed
as concertmistress in Avery Fisher Hall with her small chamber orchestra as
well as in Lincoln Center's MidSummers Night Series. She conducted members
of the London Symphony and the Royal Philharmonic and performed as
concertmistress violin soloist at a private reception for the Queen and
other members of the Royal family.
In addition to developing repertoire for the Met Balcony and performing there each weekend, Beryl is also active in the commercial recording field. She has programmed acoustic music series for
several arts institutions including the Guggenheim's WorldBeat Jazz Series
and the first years origin of MoMA's Summergarden series. Beryl has recorded
for numerous artists on the Columbia, BMG and Warner labels. She produced
and recorded The Romantic Piano Trio and OME: Piano Quartet Selections, on
her label, Beryllium Records.
A Duo CD of Violin and Piano Sonatas and a new
Piano Quartet CD " Music From The Balcony" is currently in production.
